Oliver Sheldon and the York Civic Trust have a long shared history. Sheldon was one of the founding members of the Civic Trust with a deep interest in conservation. It was his role as first chairman and secretary which led the Civic Trust to name a historic house in Aldwark the Oliver Sheldon house in his honour. The speaker, Andrew Morrison has worked in the heritage and culture sector across the North of England as a senior curator and as CEO of the Civic Trust for the past seven years. As such, he is well aware of the impact communities (and individuals) can have in positively developing towns and cities.
