Ahead of the return of the Mystery Plays to York’s streets on June 28th & July 5th 2026, he will review the revival of medieval waggon-plays, the involvement of the surviving York guilds in supplying performers, the practical challenges of street performance in the face of 21st century regulations, and dilemmas concerning authenticity re language, costumes and stage sets in a modern era.
